Star Fish: Another Superyacht Project By McMullen & Wing

Star Fish

McMullen & Wing is currently working on the construction of the 50-metre superyacht Star Fish, the larger sister-ship of the Big Fish, launched in March 2010.

The Star Fish was designed by Greg C. Marshall Naval Architects, Inc. of Victoria, BC and is the second project for Aquos Yachts, a design, construction management and marketing services company specializing in innovative, long-range, eco-friendly, cost-effective vessels.

Star Fish

With only a few changes from her sister-ship, Star Fish will offer more than just an extra five metres. She will be a rarity in yacht design and construction – a large, ocean-going, full-displacement yacht under the critical 500 gross registered tons threshold, exempting the vessel from international rules governing construction of commercial vessels such as cruise liners.

Star Fish

The Star Fish will have a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. She will have an additional guest stateroom and will be able to provide the guest accommodation for 12 persons. The full width owner’s stateroom will be located aft on the bridge deck. The salon, dinning, galley and one VIP guest stateroom will be located on the main deck forward. The hull deck will include four guest staterooms.

Much of the deck area will be covered with infused stone, created by Stone Decking Systems. This material is low in maintenance, low in cost, low in weight, non-skid even in a driving rain and high in ecological value.
