Established in 1941, when Canberra was a young city with just over 10,000 people, the Y has literally grown side-by-side with the nation’s capital.
The very first YMCA was founded in London by George Williams in 1844 to support young men during a time of great poverty. The Y is now located in over 120 countries and has been supporting the Canberra Region for 80 years.
