Founded on September 26, 1941 at the initiative of the Chilean Maritime League, it was the first institution of its kind in the country. It has its own statutes in accordance with the law and its legal personality indicates that it is a non-profit corporation, dedicated to the practice, promotion and encouragement of water sports.
