Today’s WYC was originally entered as the Royal Württemberg Yacht Club in January 1911 in the club register of the then district office in Tettnang.
The founding of the club, encouraged by King Wilhelm II, arose from the enthusiasm and willingness to make sacrifices that spread like fire at the time for the construction of a German fleet that reached deep into the interior. After careful preparations, the Württembergers followed the example of the Bavarians, Austrians and Badeners in 1911 by founding their own yacht club.The prerequisite for any sailing activity under the special conditions of Lake Constance was, of course, the creation of a suitable marina. The construction of this facility and the creation of a small clubhouse was started in the founding year.
