Watersportvereniging Oostvoorne

WVO was established on December 28, 1963 and approved by Royal Decree on May 20, 1964.

WVO is affiliated with the Water Sports Association (formerly the KNWV). and contributes part of your contribution to it.

WVO is also affiliated with the consultative body SOBM (Stichting Overleg Brielse Meer).

The water on which we sail is managed by the Hollandse Delta Water Board, while the harbor is leased from the Voorne-Putten-Rozenburg Recreation Board. The management of the port, among other things, has been transferred by the Recreation Board to Staatsbosbeheer.

WVO has a number of committees. The harbor commissioner and the chairman of the bar committee together with the chairman, treasurer and secretary form the board. The following committees are represented:

Port and Site Commission,
Bar and Clubhouse Committee
Maintenance Committee
Activities committee (event committee, youth sailing plan and competition committee)
There is also an editorial office. She takes care of the publication of our club organ “Op de Valreep” 5 times a year, which includes the announcements of the board, which is therefore mandatory material for all members. In “Op de Valreep” you will also find the schedules for self-activity and bar services. The website supports this reporting, but the club magazine is leading.

WVO does not employ its own staff. Everything in the association is done by the members.

The great strength of WVO is the willingness of the members to dedicate themselves to the association. There are a number of options for this. In the first place there is an obligation to work independently, but in addition a lot of work is done on a completely voluntary basis.
