The home port of the Hamburg Sailing Club (HSC) is located on the Alster in the heart of Hamburg. Sailing athletes from Hamburg and the world have been meeting here since 1892 for fair and sporty sailing competitions or simply to enjoy a sundowner together on the sun terrace. As one of the largest regatta organizers, the HSC organizes German, European and World Championships and hosts the annual “Championship of Masters” under the patronage of the DSV. North Sea Week and Glückstadt Regatta, numerous association and cup regattas, the popular fun races “Kangaroo Regatta” and “Alster Bell” and the “Hamburg Summer Classics”, which have already become an institution, complete the regatta programme.
In addition to the regattas, touring and leisure sailing as well as training for the youngest are equally important parts of the work of the Hamburger Segel-Club. A look at the list of members also shows this; many big names in sailing have stood and still stand here. Anyone who shares a passion for water and wind will find their maritime home at the HSC. No own boat? No problem in the HSC! The club’s own fleet also offers sailing fans without a boat the opportunity to explore Hamburg from the Alster or to discover sea sailing, and crews are hired again and again for trips on the North Sea and Baltic Sea. Guests interested in sailing are always welcome in the clubhouse at one of the most beautiful locations on Hamburg’s Alster with its first-class gastronomy!
