The Grand Traverse Yacht Club was formed in 1960 to draw together those who share an enthusiasm for boating and the Grand Traverse Bay. Our private, member-owned club is a community centered in the enjoyment of life on the water and good company. Largely a sailing club, the summer schedule of racing becomes the center of club activities on Wednesday and Thursday nights and for featured weekend regattas. Our cruising fleet, under both sail and power, explores the Great Lakes and beyond. We support youth sailing through a long-standing partnership with Traverse Area Community Sailing, an independent organization founded by our members.
