In 1955, a group of friends began to shape the idea of building a yacht club , and it would be on December 22 of that year when the first meeting was held to establish a society called CLUB MARÍTIMO LA CONCHA. A month earlier, on November 28, the Minutes Book had been registered with the Civil Government, corresponding to it as number 443.
The first President, fundamental in these beginnings to materialize the headquarters, was the architect D. Pedro Cerdán Fuentes . In the month of November 1955, the request was presented to the Ministry of Public Works, to build a wooden building for the Social Club, and that with file number 292 would obtain approval.
The legalization of the works of Club La Concha, with a concession of an area of 618’15 m2, would be carried out by means of OM of May 8, 1958.
Over the years, the Club became too small to develop light sailing nautical activities, as well as to accommodate its members. For these reasons, on June 16, 1965, a first expansion project was presented to the Regional Office of the Coasts of Almería. And a year later, on February 2, before the aforementioned body, a second expansion project was presented.
In 1973, on July 28, a request was submitted to the Ministry of Public Works for the legalization and construction of the expansion of the Club in the lands of the maritime-terrestrial zone and more coastline of Los Alcázares. The new area would be 3,031.15 m2, of which 1,833 m2 correspond to built to legalize, 580 m2 to build and 618.15 m2 of the original concession, legalized on May 8, 1958.
On September 5, 1975, the Levante Coast and Ports Office proposes to annul the OM of May 8, 1958 and authorize the Club to occupy an area of 3,031.15 m2, legalizing the works that consisted of platform and building social, and authorizing the execution of expansion works of the first.
