The Circolo della Vela Talamone is an Amateur Sports Association, registered in the CONI register of non-profit sports associations, established in 1972 by some sailing lovers and affiliated to the Italian Sailing Federation since 1973.
The Club’s main purpose is “the dissemination and practice of amateur sailing sport in particular and amateur nautical activity in general” (Article 2 of the Statute). Our motto “love for the sea, sailing for passion” perfectly interprets this spirit.
Since the early years, sports and sailing education have constituted the predominant part of social life: the activity with dinghies, the sailing school for the very young and competitive sports are the flagships of which the Club he’s proud.
In the 1970s a small group of enthusiastic youngsters traveled the Tuscan coast to participate in all the Flying Junior and 470 regattas. In the 1980s the activity on cabin cruisers and windsurfing took over. The new millennium saw the creation of a real competitive team with the support of the enthusiasts of the 70s in the role of organizers, collaborators and parents.
