Founded in 1933, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious sailing clubs in the Mediterranean.
Its headquarters are in Mondello, a few kilometers from the center of Palermo. The real social activity begins immediately after the inauguration, in 1934.Over the years, the Circolo della Vela Sicilia has hosted several prestigious national and international regattas, among which the European Championships of the Star and J24 classes, the Absolute Italian Championships of the Olympic classes and the offshore regatta “Palermo – Montecarlo” stand out.
