Welcome to the Barefoot Sailing Club (BFSC). BFSC was founded in 1971 for people who love sailing whether they owned a boat or not. Originally focusing on dinghy racing, the club has morphed into an array of sailing choices. Members enjoy racing on cruisers and racing boats, cruising around the lake and rafting up for social activities. Regardless of your level of expertise on a boat, BFSC is one of the best sailing homes you can find on Lake Lanier!
Throughout the year, BFSC has many fun and exciting activities. Beginning each year, the annual Poker Run and Chili Cook-off starts the year with a day filled with fun, sailing and friends. Racing begins in the early spring and ends in the fall. Our annual lobster feast and steak out are events no one wants to miss. To top things off, this year we will host the 49th annual Barefoot Open regatta!
Each first Saturday of the month, boat owners and boat less members suit up for a day of cruising the lake ending with either a raft-up party or sit down for more talking and sharing of sailing life stories. Adding to the fun, this year we will be resuming the Blessing of the Fleet, Brunch on the Lake, and Post-race Dirtups!
