The Commodore and all members of the Axe Yacht Club welcome you and hope that you enjoy the facilities we offer. A particular feature of the Club is that it is maintained and operated by volunteers from across the membership. This self-help ethos is the essence of AYC and over the years has significantly reduced the cost of projects and maintenance. This has enabled the Club to keep the cost of being a member of AYC low compared with other harbours. Giving time to the Club is a requirement of membership and volunteering is also a great way to meet other members of the Club. Volunteering at AYC.
The affairs of the Club are managed by the Executive Committee, which is chaired by the Commodore. Club activities are overseen by three Rear Commodores (Activities Afloat, Harbour Services, & Social). They are supported by a number of sub-committees and this enables as many members as possible to be involved in the day-to-day running of the Club from the grass roots up. The Club currently has over 900 members.
