AHYC was first founded in 1968. During the turmoil of the Vietnam war, the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy, a group of friends decided more positive and enjoyable experiences were needed. Richard Sundberg was elected the first Commodore of the Club.
Tucked away in the corner of Greenwich Bay, AHYC is perfect exploring the many local coves. It is also centrally positioned in Narragansett Bay that the many harbors, coves and inlets that can easily be reached for a day trip or a weekend overnighter. Narragansett Bay is a sailor’s delight with fresh southerly breezes, manageable seas and gorgeous views.
