The Future of Boating: a Flying Boat

One of the most talked-about innovations debuting at the Toronto International Boat Show 2026 is the arrival of a true flying boat. Canadian marine technology company ENVGO will make its official North American debut with a groundbreaking 100% electric, zero-emission, AI-powered hydrofoiling vessel that promises to redefine what boating can be.

Founded by serial inventor Mike Peasgood and the team behind internationally renowned aerospace company Aeryon Labs in Waterloo, Ontario, ENVGO brings aerospace engineering directly onto the water. The company is building next-generation “flying” boats that literally rise above traditional marine limitations.

ENVGO’s first production model, the NV1, is a zero-emission 25-foot electric cruiser that delivers a unique sensation of flight over water. Using advanced hydrofoil technology, the hull lifts completely above the surface, dramatically reducing drag and extending range up to four times that of conventional electric boats. This breakthrough effectively solves one of electric boating’s longest-standing challenges: limited range.

Beyond efficiency, the NV1 offers a premium ride quality — gliding smoothly above waves without engine noise, vibration, or emissions. Powered by a state-of-the-art electric propulsion system and intuitive control technology, the NV1 delivers a quiet, refined, and sustainable boating experience that feels more like aviation than traditional cruising.

For visitors interested in the future of marine mobility, ENVGO’s flying boat is set to be one of the most compelling and futuristic highlights of the 2026 show.
