Parents can be the best gift in the world at times. Our parents recently retired and they purchased a Riviera 3600 Sport Yacht SII to relax on and to travel with friends from port to port enjoying their retirement.
Our tenth anniversary was coming up and our parents invited us to use their yacht for two weeks and meet them in the Florida Keys. We started out on the east coast at New York harbor. We would travel down to the keys and meet the parents there where we would then rent a car and take ourselves and our kids home, who by the way went with us. This yacht was a pleasure for the whole family. The Riviera 3600 Sport yacht SII was full of safety features and much more.
Our accommodations were fantastic. The master stateroom has an island bed that is large enough for my tall husband to fit in. It measures 6 feet 7 inches and he stands 6 feet 4 inches. There were plenty of cubby holes to store things in and we were able to get organized quickly upon boarding because everything you can think of is laid out for your convenience.
The kids, our two oldest girls shared a cabin that has a generous double bed. Our son got his own little single bed that runs fore and aft, much to his delight.
The next morning fixing breakfast was so easy in the galley. Of course it was fully stocked and there were also live wells for the fish we might catch along the way. Grilling is quite a delight off the back deck with a grill that locks onto the back of the yacht. Our steaks came out perfectly.
As we relaxed we enjoyed the stars above and the saloon afforded us shelter from a lively little nip in the wind one evening. The L-shaped lounge was perfect to play board games in and enjoy a movie with the kids.
My husband loved the helm. He said he truly felt like a captain with the control he got at the helm. The ease of sailing this vessel is phenomenal. The dash-board of the Riviera 3600 Sport Yacht SII looks almost like the dash-board of a luxury car.
The girls enjoyed sun bathing on the sun pad in the foredeck. There are tables, lounges, and a boarding platform to jump into the water for a quick refreshing swim. The folding table was great to hold sunglasses, drinks, sun bloc and munchies for the kids. We really enjoyed the opportunity to do some deep sea fishing and caught our supper a couple of times. Our fresh fish was grilled to perfection on the grill at the back of the yacht. We invited a couple of people as we were in port for the night, and we enjoyed a magnificent sunset while enjoying our grill and drinks. The kids were having a great time netting crabs.
We couldn’t have asked for a better tenth anniversary present. Our nine year old twin girls and our seven year old son were enchanted with the ride to the Florida Keys. We were able to scuba and snorkel several times and the boarding platform made this so easy with the ladder and non-skid surface. The Riviera 3600 Sport Yacht SII is the perfect set up for families and anyone else who enjoys a touch of elegance, luxury and fun.
