The 220ft Sailing Superyacht Vertigo By Alloy Yachts

Vertigo

In October 2008, Alloy Yachts began building the largest sailing yacht in their yard to date, the 220’ Philippe Briand ketch Vertigo. She will be the largest yacht to ever launch in New Zeland and is scheduled to be delivered to her owners in early 2011.

Phillippe Briand’s brief from the client was to make a performance sailing yacht capable of world cruising. Vertigo has an almost vertical bow and consequently a greater waterline lengththus making for a considerable improvement in speed both under sail and engine power.

The interior design of the yacht was created by renowned French designer Christian Liaigre. The interior color panel is light; the basic ingredients are walnut with the expanses of white surfaces and darkened sand blasted woods.
