Serenity 90 Expedition Yacht

Serenity 90 Expedition Yacht

On Monday October 25th, Cheoy Lee launched two yachts, the 90 foot Serenity Expedition yacht, yard number 5016, and the 148 foot Mazu, at the Hin Lee yard in southern China.

The Serenity 90 Expedition Yacht is for an owner upgrading from his previous yacht, a Cheoy Lee Serenity 68. The yacht was purchased through Cheoy Lee Yachts Australia, although delivery will be ex-yard Hong Kong. The 90’ is fitted with a pair of continuously rated Caterpillar C18 diesels, developing 600hp at 1800rpm.

A 3.6:1 ZF reduction gearbox allows for a slow turning large diameter propeller, offering excellent fuel efficiency. Combined with 4,850 gallons of fuel, the yachts 4,500 nm maiden voyage from Hong Kong to Adelaide can be made without any refuelling stops.

The yacht offers large master and VIP staterooms, and two equal twin guest staterooms, to which the owner has requested an additional pullman berth for each. The comfortable skylounge has also been redesigned to facilitate occasional use as a double stateroom. A total of 12 gusets can therefore be comfortably accommodated in five staterooms, each with ensuite heads. There is also accommodation for a crew of four in the forward part of the yacht.

Other features include a large foredeck, with a centrally mounted 2,200 lb davit, housing a 5.5m RIB tender, a waverunner and Hobie Cat.

The Serenity 90 Expedition Yacht will be delivered to her owners in early 2011.
