Red Square: The Largest Superyacht Made In Turkey

Red Square

Dunya Yachts are famous for building excellent yachts. From the year 2006, the company has done a tremendous job in construction and refitting of a number of superyachts. It has modern shipyard facilities measuring 30,000 square meters, fully equipped and with a skilled labor force. Currently the shipyard is constructing two superyachts, one of which is named the Red Square. Construction of this superyacht is in conjunction with a team of professional firms, each handling a specific area.

Interior design is under the stewardship of the world famous French designer, Alberto Pinto. Taka yachts are working as the naval architects while the firm of Sterling/Scott of Monaco is in charge of the exterior design of the Red Square. Sterling/Scott has two other yachts in varying stages of completion. They specialize in designing yachts that are more than 40 meters in length.

The Red Square (DY003) is about to make history by being the largest superyacht made in Turkey. It’s being constructed at the port of Pendik in Istanbul.

The Red Square has an imposing structure. The hull is made of steel. It’s superstructure is made of a lighter metal, aluminum. The Red Square is quite big, measuring 72 meters in length. It’s displacement weight is a massive 1450 tons. The draught measures 3.81 meters. It is equipped with two powerful caterpillar engines, each with a capacity of 3150 HP, thereby totaling 6,300 HP for both engines. The engines run on diesel. The Red Square is also fitted with big fuel storage tanks, and can store a maximum of 164,000 liters of diesel. With such big fuel reserves, the yacht can go for months before refueling again. It also has big reservoirs for water storage, measuring 30,000 liters. This superyacht is built to travel at quite a pace achieving top speeds of 17 knots. It’s cruising speed is 14 knots.

The interior design of this superyacht is something to behold. As stated earlier, the magnificent skills of Alberto Pinto are manifest here. The interior of this superyacht evokes an illusion of an exciting beach getaway. An assortment of natural and exotic woods is used to set the lounge and the guest rooms in a beautiful and colorful array.

The Red Square has six decks. The owner of the yacht is at liberty to entertain 12 guests comfortably. The guest rooms are all located at the upper deck together with the owner’s suite. The superyacht is equipped with VIP facilities for its occupants to enjoy. It is fitted with two double cabins, all on the main deck. It is also equipped with two twin cabins, which can convert to a double cabin for the guest’s convenience. The guest rooms are set in a host of different colors, while the master suite is set in blue marble.

The furniture is exquisite, being the work of skilled designers among them, Alberto Pinto. The superyacht is furnished with a number of small tables and armchairs. Most of the furniture is made of teak and straw material.

The Red Square is on course and approaching completion. The manufacturer expects to launch it early 2011.
