Italy’s autumn boat show calendar does not end with the headline events of Cannes, Genoa and Monaco. Further south, on the Adriatic coast, another nautical gathering is preparing to bring together boats, marine businesses, technology and the growing blue economy.

The 22nd edition of SNIM – Salone Nautico di Puglia (Puglia Boat Show) will take place from October 22 to 26, 2026, at the Marina di Brindisi in Puglia, southern Italy.

Over five days, the marina will become a meeting point for boatbuilders, marine equipment companies, yacht brokers, technology providers, researchers and boating enthusiasts, with boats displayed both on the water and ashore.

But SNIM 2026 is increasingly about more than seeing the latest boats. This year’s programme places a strong emphasis on international business, marine technology, sustainable propulsion and the wider economic potential of the Mediterranean.

What Is the Puglia Boat Show?

SNIM has reached its 22nd edition in 2026 and has developed into an important nautical industry event for southern Italy.

Its location is a significant part of that identity. Brindisi has been connected to maritime trade and travel for centuries and occupies a strategic position on the Adriatic, facing the Balkans and the eastern Mediterranean.

Rather than separating the boat show from its surroundings, SNIM takes place directly at the Marina di Brindisi, allowing visitors to move between exhibition areas, boats in the water, demonstrations and meetings with companies working across the nautical sector.

The event covers a broad spectrum of the marine industry, including recreational boating, shipbuilding, equipment and components, marine services, technology, nautical tourism and sustainable solutions.

Boats, Equipment and Marine Technology

Naturally, boats remain at the heart of a boat show.

SNIM brings together boatbuilders, dealers and marine companies, with vessels displayed in the marina as well as products and services presented by exhibitors on shore.

For visitors interested in what is happening behind the helm, however, some of the most interesting developments may come from the technology side of the show.

The 2026 programme highlights areas including sustainable propulsion, energy transition, IoT solutions, advanced materials and marine supply chains.

These are becoming increasingly important throughout the yachting industry as builders look for ways to reduce emissions and energy consumption while simultaneously adding smarter onboard systems and improving performance.

The show is also expected to include live demonstrations and sea trials, giving visitors the opportunity to experience some products in the environment for which they were designed: on the water.

SNIM 2026 Expands Its International B2B Programme

One of the most interesting elements of SNIM 2026 is its expanding international business programme.

The SNIM B2B Matchmaking Event 2026, supported by the Enterprise Europe Network, is designed to connect companies and professionals working throughout the nautical and blue economy sectors.

Participants include shipyards, boat manufacturers, marine component suppliers, technology companies, yacht brokers, naval architects, fleet operators, startups, research centres and other maritime organisations.

Instead of relying entirely on chance encounters at exhibition stands, participants can arrange targeted 30-minute one-to-one business meetings in advance.

On-site structured B2B meetings are scheduled for October 23, while a B2B “Walk Around” programme will allow participants to meet companies directly at their exhibition stands during the opening days of the show.

Virtual meetings are also part of the programme, making it possible for international companies that cannot travel to Brindisi to participate remotely.

Participation in the matchmaking programme is free.

International Buyers Come to Brindisi

Internationalisation is clearly becoming an important part of SNIM’s ambitions.

On October 22 and 23, a dedicated incoming programme will bring buyers from European and North African markets to Brindisi.

Organised by regional Chambers of Commerce together with Unioncamere Puglia and other partners, the initiative is intended to connect international buyers directly with Italian companies involved in recreational boating, shipbuilding, engines, equipment and related marine industries.

For smaller Italian companies in particular, events like this can provide something that large international yacht shows do not always offer: structured access to potential distributors, suppliers and commercial partners from other markets.

It also reflects Puglia’s geographical position. From Brindisi, the Adriatic is less a boundary than a maritime corridor connecting Italy with Greece, the Balkans and the wider Mediterranean.

The Blue Economy Takes Centre Stage

The evolution of SNIM reflects a much broader change taking place within boat shows.

A modern nautical event is no longer simply an exhibition of new boats.

Shipbuilding, marina infrastructure, tourism, energy, digital technology, research, environmental protection and coastal development are increasingly interconnected, usually grouped under the broad concept of the blue economy.

SNIM 2026 is deliberately bringing these worlds together.

The B2B programme includes companies and organisations working in green technologies, sustainable propulsion, nautical tourism, marine services, research and innovation, as well as the traditional boatbuilding and equipment sectors.

For the yacht industry, this crossover is particularly relevant.

Hybrid and electric propulsion, alternative energy systems, connected onboard technology, new composite materials and more efficient marina infrastructure are gradually changing how recreational boats are designed, built and operated.

Regional shows can provide an interesting window into these developments because innovation does not come exclusively from the world’s largest shipyards. Specialist suppliers, engineering companies and startups are often responsible for technologies that later appear aboard much larger yachts.

Why Puglia Matters for Yachting

Puglia is better known internationally for its whitewashed villages, olive groves and spectacular coastline than for yacht manufacturing.

But geographically, it is difficult to imagine a region more naturally connected to the sea.

The heel of Italy stretches between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, with hundreds of kilometres of coastline and ports providing access toward Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece.

Brindisi itself has one of the Adriatic’s great natural harbours and a maritime history stretching back to Roman times.

For recreational boating, Puglia also sits in an enviable position. From its ports, yachts can explore the Adriatic coast, continue south toward the Ionian Sea or cross toward Greece and the Balkans.

That combination of tourism, geography and maritime infrastructure gives the region considerable potential as the Mediterranean yachting market continues to develop.

A Different Kind of Italian Boat Show

Visitors expecting another Monaco Yacht Show should not come to Brindisi looking for the same experience.

And that may be precisely the point.

SNIM represents a different part of the marine industry: regional shipyards, smaller boatbuilders, equipment manufacturers, technology companies, nautical tourism and businesses trying to establish connections beyond Italy.

The atmosphere of a regional boat show can also make it easier to speak directly with builders, designers and suppliers rather than simply viewing boats from a distance.

At the same time, the increasing emphasis on international buyers and B2B matchmaking suggests that SNIM wants to expand its role beyond being a regional exhibition.

Its position between Italian manufacturing and the wider Adriatic and Mediterranean markets gives it an interesting platform from which to do so.

Looking Ahead to Brindisi

With Europe’s biggest autumn yacht shows attracting much of the international attention, it is easy to overlook the smaller events taking place around the Mediterranean.

Yet these shows can reveal another side of the industry.

SNIM 2026 brings together boats and boatbuilding with marine technology, sustainability, tourism and international business — all within one of Italy’s most maritime regions.

For anyone watching the development of yachting in the Adriatic and southern Mediterranean, Puglia Boat Show 2026 may be one of the more interesting regional events to follow this autumn.
