Out of Viaraggio Italy, the Overmarine superyacht building company has now introduced the preliminaries for their latest project. It is the Mangusta 148 Oceano. This will also be this shipyard’s first full displacement three deck motor yacht, and quite possibly the beginning of a whole line of similar designs.
At more that 45 meters in total length, she will be powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53R diesel motors, and will be able to obtain speeds of up to fifteen knots. Her cruising speed will be around 12, and at this speed the Mangusta 148 Oceano will be able to travel over 4,000 nautical miles, making her capable of getting anywhere in the world. Her beam is more than 9 meters, and she will have a drought of just a little over 2.
Accommodating up to twelve guests, and a crew of nine, this yacht will be the epitome of comfort and luxury. The open fly deck will have a large outdoor entertainment area, with a jacuzzi tub, ample sun bathing lounges, and even a outdoor home theater system. It will also have a bar area, as well as ample dining. The upper deck will be where the captains quarters will be located, as well as the state of the art cockpit area. Here you will also find one of the main salons, as well as ample outdoor seating.
One the main deck will be the owner’s suite, taking up most of the forward area, as well as full beam. There will be no discomforts here, with a large and luxurious bathroom, walk in closets, and an office space. The rest of this deck is going to be comprised of the main lounge and dining area, with a large galley, entertainment area, and this will also open up to the aft swimming and skiff launch. Below deck will be the main guest and crew quarters, with two full sized VIP suites, and an open plan for the owner’s own guest preferences. Plans right now include the two double, two twin, as well as two pull man cabins, and five crew cabins.
Because the designs for the Mangusta 148 Oceano are in the preliminary stages, the right owner will have full control over the layout, the wood and style of the whole interior design, minus the engine room, and the cockpit areas. They can either customize their own, or Overmarine can suggest various options to the client.
The Mangusta 148 will have a more than 19,000 gallon fuel capacity, over 3,000 gallons in fresh water, and will have systems for reduced waster and emissions.
