Belize Motoryachts Announced Belize 52 Hardtop Motor Yacht Launching

After showcasing a very impressive display of their boats at the Sydney International Boat Show as well as the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Belize Motoryachts, an Australia-based marque that has recently entered the market, announced that it has already made three sales, although the official world launch will only happen in about a month, on the Gold Cost.

Purchased effectively “off the plan”, two of the limited edition, semi-custom Belize 52 Hardtops will go to separate Gold Coast and Sydney-based private buyers (both long-term boat owners). The third Belize 52 Hardtop has been secured by Boating Syndication of Australia (BSA). “We are proud to be able to offer the beautiful and uniquely styled Belize motoryacht to our syndicate owners,” says BSA Managing Director, Andy Young. “We will be offering the joy of owning an exclusive Belize motoryacht to 10 families via 10 shares in a new syndicate to be based at The Spit in Mosman on Sydney’s Middle Harbour.”

The three pre-launch sales are a huge vote of confidence for Belize Motoryachts, which was founded in 2010 by Australian boating industry leaders, Wes Moxey, a highly respected boat-builder, and managing partner, Lee Dillon, principal of Luxury Design Motoryachts (LDM). Named after the Caribbean luxury boating destination, Belize was conceived, in the words of Lee Dillon, to create “a boat for people who know what they want and who are searching for something better than what they’ve experienced before”.

Built in collaboration with the artisanal, ISO-certified Taiwanese shipyard, Kha Shing, the Belize 52 is an elegant 52’10” (16.10 metre) cruiser, engineered with perfection for the boating aficionado who not only appreciates tradition and timeless style (the Belize draws its aesthetic inspiration from the classic European timber-based boats of the Art Deco era), but also the quality assurance that comes inherently with the bespoke craftsmanship process. Created in two variations (single-level, sports yacht-style Hardtop, and split-level Flybridge), the svelte and stately Belize 52 has a limited production output of just nine boats in the next twelve months growing to a maximum output of 30 per year by 2015.

Wes Moxey is currently with Kha Shing in Taiwan, where he today celebrated the landmark completion of hull number one by treating all Kha Shing staff to an Australian-style BBQ. In what was an understandably emotional day, Wes presented each Kha Shing team member (some 100 staff) with a commemorative red Belize cap in appreciation of their remarkable efforts in helping turn the Belize Motoryachts dream into a reality.

Prior to today’s event, Wes commented that both he and Lee Dillon are excited by the pre-launch interest. “We’re absolutely thrilled to confirm three sales at this very early stage, and we have a number of additional key prospects who are eager to see the boat upon its arrival. Having spent a fair amount of time here in Taiwan over the last six months at our yard developing the first Belize 52, and having completed sea trials, I’m absolutely confident that we’ll deliver on our promise in terms of a truly unique boat that has both a world class finish and performance. Our clients see that what we’re offering is a real point of difference and we’ve achieved all of our own key performance indicators. More importantly, we’re gathering considerable interest from both international and Australian clients, which clearly is the result of word of mouth communication.”

Belize Motoryachts prides itself on quality and individuality, and both private pre-launch clients of the Belize 52 have enjoyed the opportunity to travel to Taiwan recently to spend time at Kha Shing with Moxey and the Belize team customising aspects of the boat according to their individual tastes. The firm’s customisation ability is vast and includes the motoryacht’s layout (number of cabins and cabin sizes), to timber colour choices and additional personal elements. “We want every Belize owner ecstatic with their individual boat,” Lee Dillon enthuses. “The warranty, maintenance, service and our valet facilities offer everything anyone would expect when they invest over a million dollars into a new boat. And that’s what we want to achieve – an alternative motoryacht that is a sound investment, that doesn’t look like all the other boats anchored in a bay and affords great comfort in the way people go boating.”
