Master yacht builders Outer Reef Yachts have just shipped their first 70ft Outer Reef yacht named the Aroona down under for Aroona Luxury Boat Charters. The 70s new owners Andrew and Linda Prentice will ultimately base their newest acquisition out of Half Moon Bay Marina in Yorkeys Knob, Cairns in Australia’s Queensland. After a rough trip from Taiwan aboard its carrier vessel the Outer Reef 70 off loaded in Port Kembla the 70ft Aroona sailed the final leg to Outer Reefs location in Sydney amidst breaching whale pods and frolicking dolphins without incident.
Sydney is the location of the two-week process of the final commissioning of the Aroona before it finally makes it to its homeport to begin its career as a luxury charter vessel taking its passengers on cruises in and around the Great Barrier Reef and its adjoining islands. The Great Barrier Reef, which is the world’s largest coral reef, is a great location for cruising with its many islands and ideal fishing and diving spots a customer will surely have a buffet of fun on their plate once they begin their adventure. The Aroona is crewed by a very competent, professional, and courteous staff too.
A unique aspect to the Outer Reef 70 Aroona is that it will be in the shipbuilders “Try Before you Buy” program. This program will allow potential customers to spend some time aboard ship cruising, fishing, and diving in and around some of the most desirable locations and pristine waters anywhere in the world. The deal will be that if at the end of your cruise should you decide to purchase an Outer Reef yacht then 100% of your charter fee will be reimbursed to you. With any luck this new program will be very successful for both Outer Reef Yachts and Aroona Luxury Boat Charters and can continue on.
Outer Reef Yachts built the Aroona to Queensland Commercial Survey at their shipyard facilities in Taiwan is 70 feet or 22 meters in length, sports three decks, and includes a Flybridge. The Aroona’s beam is 18’6″ or 5.6m and the draft is 1.52m or 5″. The powertrain for the 70ft Aroona is twin Caterpillar C-9 500 hp engines totaling 1000 hp, which drives a twin-screw propulsion system. The fuel capacity for the Aroona is 2300 gallons or 8500 liters. Total displacement for the Outer Ref 70ft Aroona is approximately 101,000 lbs.
The Aroona boasts the latest and greatest in luxury, entertainment, and operational technology in order to satisfy the demands of the passengers and crew that sails her. There are accommodations aboard ship for up to seven guests using three staterooms with ensuites. The Master Suite can house two guests and the VIP suite can as well, while the guest cabin can berth three guests. There are LCD flat screen televisions with DVD players in the staterooms and the lounge. The crew of the Aroona has the latest and best in communications and navigational systems at their disposal.
