What is the Monaco Yacht Show
The Monaco Yacht Show is the flagship event in the superyacht world. Held annually in Monaco, it transforms Port Hercule into a showcase of luxury, innovation, and design for superyachts, tenders, marine equipment, accessories, design firms, brokers, and luxury lifestyle brands. It’s not just a boat show, it’s a marketplace, a trendsetter, and a gathering place for the global elite of yachting.
History & Significance
- Founded in 1991 by Maurice Cohen.
- Over time it has evolved from a broker‐oriented show (mainly superyachts over ~20 m) into the premier superyacht show globally.
- The show is now under the high patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco.
- It typically features over 120 superyachts (available for sale, charter, or display), about 50–60 luxury tenders, and more than 500 exhibitors in related sectors (design, equipment, sustainability, craftmanship, etc.).
- Also a place to see cutting‐edge innovation, not just yachts: sustainability solutions, naval architecture, new materials, advanced propulsion, etc.

During the Grand Opening Night on 23 September 2025, the Blue Wake™ Awards 2025 celebrated companies and yachts whose technologies or products show proven impact and credibility in sustainability.
2025 winners:
- Tenders / Water Toys: Tykun – eco-friendly electric tender solutions.

These awards spotlight the most credible and innovative eco-solutions helping yachting transition to a cleaner future — a theme increasingly central to the Monaco Yacht Show.
Tickets & Access
If you’re thinking of attending, here’s what you need to know about tickets, access, and what to expect.
- Ticket types usually include standard visitor passes (1-day up to multi-day) and VIP / premium passes such as the Sapphire Experience. These offer benefits like special access, hospitality, possibly private events.
- Price levels are high, reflecting the exclusivity. For instance, recent standard passes have been priced (one-day etc.) quite steeply.
- First day may be invitation only or limited to certain categories of attendees (VIPs, exhibitors, press etc.).
- When buying, plan ahead: tickets sell out, special access passes are limited. Also accommodation in Monaco at that time is very scarce and expensive so booking well in advance is crucial.
Tips for Making the Most of It
- Plan in advance: go through the yacht list before you arrive and pick which yachts you most want to tour. Many superyachts allow onboard visits by appointment.
- Use dedicated zones: the innovation and sustainability hubs can be less crowded and really show the direction the industry is heading. Great for getting insights beyond glamorous exteriors.
- Networking: this is as much about the people — designers, shipyards, brokers, suppliers. If you’re interested in buying or chartering, have appointments lined up.
- Dress & behaviour: Monaco is glamorous. Many yachts will have strict hygiene/dress codes for visitors. Respect that. Also, access times can be strict.
- Don’t forget logistics: arriving in Monaco can mean by road, helicopter from Nice, or even private yacht. Consider transport to/from the show each day. Also, traffic and crowds will be heavy.
What’s New / Highlights for 2025
Here are some of the new or particularly special features to expect in the 2025 edition:
- Blue Wake™ Awards are being introduced to recognize sustainable solutions in the industry.
- Expanded “Adventure Area” with luxury tenders, toys, vehicles etc.
- New yachts and launches: many of the yachts on display are either built recently or recently refitted.
Why Go, Who’s It For
- Yacht buyers / charter clients: If you’re looking to acquire or charter, it’s one of the best opportunities to compare many top vessels in one location.
- Design & tech aficionados: The newest designs, green technologies, and trends are often unveiled or showcased here.
- Luxury & lifestyle lovers: Even if you’re not in the market, the show is a spectacle — superyachts, tenders, luxury brands, hospitality, and the glamour of Monaco.
- Industry professionals: Shipbuilders, naval architects, brokers, interior designers, equipment manufacturers all find this essential.
