On the initiative of Antoni Aleksandrowicz, an architect and painter, stage designer and decorator of the Grand Theatre, the Warsaw Opera and at the same time a passionate Yachtman and sailing expert – at the end of 1923, the idea of establishing an association was born, which would set itself the goal of building from scratch and further development of amateur sailing in Poland. This thought was picked up by a few former sailors, members of the “Sea and River League” association operating in Warsaw, and resulted in the creation of the Organizing Committee aimed at establishing the Sailing Club.
