On March 22, 1918, a number of residents of Roelofarendsveen met to set up a sailing club with the aim of organizing competitions. Already in the summer of the same year, the first competitions were actually organized by this sailing club, which was given the name “Steeds Sneller”. Both “boots” and “praams” are allowed to participate in the competitions. The entry fee for the open competitions is 1.50 – the prize: a medal. At the end of 1922 it was decided to change the name “Steeds Sneller” to Zeilvereniging Braassemermeer. Two years later, the association joins the “Verbondenen Zeilverenigingen” now better known as the KNWV and Royal approval of the statutes has now been drawn up.
