Fishers Green Sailing Club

Fishers Green Sailing Club is situated in the Lee Valley Regional Park, approximately two miles north of Waltham Abbey and within easy reach of J25 and J26 of the M25. Our sailing water is the 80-acre Holyfield Lake, which, with its countryside setting and clear open water, provides Members with a beautiful place to sail. Directions can be found here.

The club has been established for over 60 years. It is registered as a Community Interest Company, a Community Amateur Sports Club and is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association. Whilst the sport of dinghy sailing is the predominant activity, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding (SUP) and kayaking are also catered for and encouraged, and many of our Members are also active in offshore cruising and racing.

The administration of the Club is by an elected voluntary Management Committee. Much of the maintenance of the clubhouse and other facilities is undertaken by Members who take part in organised working parties during January and on Wednesdays throughout the year.

A volunteer RYA-trained and certificated Rescue Team provides rescue facilities during racing and training using displacement boats and RIBs. Members are welcome to join the Rescue Team, and appropriate training in Rescue Powerboating can be provided.

Members’ rotas are operated for Club Race Control, Galley and general Duty Officer. This ensures that responsibility for the management and maintenance of the Club is shared among the Members. The Clubhouse is open and manned on Saturdays, Sundays, Bank Holidays and on Wednesdays throughout the summer.
