Berwick Sailing Club organises sailing throughout most of the year. Organised racing takes place from the beginning of April until late December but the club is available for use by its members all year round. Racing on Wednesday evenings takes place during British Summer Time and usually starts at 7 pm on the water. Weekend racing generally takes place on a Sunday. There is no fixed time for Sunday as this will often be adjusted to take advantage of favourable tide and weather timings. Occasionally events will take place on Saturdays as well/instead. Sunday start times are usually communicated to members VIA whats-app on a Friday or Saturday before. See the Sailing tab to download the 2022 race programme.
Did you know that Berwick Sailing (and Canoe) Club caters for members who want to partake in all non-powered watersports, not just sailing? We have members who particularly like the club for its superb location for kayaking both up the river and on the sea. Are you a windsurfer, surfer, kite surfer or stand up paddleboarder? Maybe you have a rowing boat or gig or just want to fish from a ‘sit on top’ kayak. All are welcome at Berwick. The club is ideally located on a lovely sandy beach and offers the non-sailing member the ability to store equipment (windsurfers, canoes, surfboards, paddleboards etc) and use changing facilities, toilets, kitchen and all the other things on offer during their water sports adventure. You don’t need to sail to join in all the off water fun either. All members are welcome to social events, BBQ’s etc whatever water sport floats their (possibly metaphorical) boat. The only exception is that we cannot cater for powered vessels such a speedboats and jet skis due to local by-laws. So why not come down for a visit or contact us to find out more, who knows, you may even end up having a go at sailing one day as well!
