Monaco Yacht Show always was the most prestigious and unique event in the yacht world but this year the world’s largest showcase for Super and Megayachts afloat will be the biggest ever. Port Hercules of Monaco expanded exhibition area to 20,300m² and added 15 additional berths. Show will berth more than 110 superyachts.
Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show said: “The demand for space at MYS has been a challenge to us for more than ten years. The improving global economy and expanding demand in developing economies for exclusive products and services, including Superyachts, was full of meaning for us and for Monaco also. Jointly with the Monaco Government, the MYS has been able to extend its show footprint for 2014 enabling us to again welcome the elite of the international Superyacht community not only to an expanded MYS but Monaco itself, the world capital of yachting”.
The new extension perfectly matches the increasing demand for exhibiting bigger yachts in the Port. Last year’s event appeared to herald the beginnings of a recovery in the yachting market and it seems today that some yachting statistics are close to pre-crisis figures, in terms of volume, with order books and the demand for finance on the increase. During the last two to three years it has also been noticeable that there has been an increasing demand for vessels over 100m, the Monaco Yacht Show will now be able to berth these giants for all to see.
The 2014 edition will be able to accommodate an extra four 35m and 40m yachts, one 45m unit, two yachts of 50m, one of 68m, one of 90m and two 120m superyachts. Amongst the 115 floating palaces from 25 to 100 m that will be exhibited at Monaco next September, around forty of them will be shown to the public for the first time.
During the four days of the show, over 80 events are organised by the exhibitors in the palaces of Monte Carlo or onboard the yachts.

Sunrise 45m
The new Sunrise 45m luxury super yacht was launched in Antalya on August 19. The project is a sister ship to the acclaimed M/Y “Africa” delivered by the shipyard in 2009. The new 45m incorporates new design features and a spectacular contemporary interior. The yacht will be showcased – by appointment only – at the Monaco Yacht Show, September 24-27, 2014 and at the Ft Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 30-November 3, 2014.
Athena
The 295.28ft /90m Custom ‘ATHENA’ was built in 2004 by Royal Huisman and last refitted in 2011. The yacht’s interior has been designed by Rebecca Bradley Interior Design and her exterior styling is by Pieter Beeldsnijder Design.
Athena is a classically styled three masted gaff rigged schooner with all the latest amenities of a modern superyacht.
Solandge
