From Yachting Ideas comes the Pelican 80, a totally new design concept in motor yachts. This is going to be a vessel that is not only going to get second glances, but thirds and fourths. While a pelican may be a little oddly shaped bird, the Pelican 80 isn’t odd in any way, but it is one that is totally different, looking more like a graceful bird in the water, with it’s attractive and sporty lines. The shape of the sheer line is relatively new, as well as the designs of the canopy. This makes the yacht not only extremely dynamic, the curves of the bow to the stern actually reflect the waves away from the ship.
The bow is as close to vertical as possible, with a deep V design, allowing it to tackle even rough seas with relative ease. The upper deck houses the large and spacious central living area, as well as the cockpit area. These are equipped with comfortable seating arrangements, as well as high visibility. The furnishings are arranged to maximize window spaces, so that you feel like you are on a terrace rather than the lounge areas. The cockpit area is as wide as the living area, providing as much viewing for navigation as possible.
The layout of the main deck features a living area near the aft exit, a dining area that is raised, with seating for six. There are two exits to the outside, the aft exit as well as one right to the left of the navigation area. There is a large glass door that living and deck area, which can be retracted to open up the area. At the fore end of the superstructure is the the galley, and the other for maneuvering when in harbors and marinas.
There is also an aft outdoor lounge are that sits on a raised platform, which features an outdoor shower as well as a bar tending area. Under this is the garage for the tender, as well as a swimming platform, one on each side where the stairs go down. In the bow there is a second large lounging deck which can accommodate up to five people at a time. On the lower main deck, the crew quarters are located as far forward as possible, giving them direct access to the galley.
There are also three double cabins, the VIP quarters and two symmetrical guest cabins in the middle, and another larger more spacious owners suite aft, with direct access to the lower deck and tender garage. Each of these rooms has a private bath, plenty of storage spaces, as well as the latest entertainment electronics. In addition, the owner’s suite also includes a study or office area.
With its sleek design, and spacious accommodations, the Pelican 80 is a sight to behold.
